Guppyfriend Washing Bag
A large part of our clothing is made of synthetic materials. When washing, broken plastic fibers get into rivers and oceans via wastewater and thus harm our environment. Our solution: The Guppyfriend wash bag. According to the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT, on average 86% fewer fibers of synthetic clothing break off when washing with the wash bag. The fibers that still break off are deposited in the corners of the wash bag after washing and can be easily removed and disposed of.
- The Guppyfriend reduces fiber breakage and protects your clothing.
- Broken plastic fibers are retained. The bag itself does not lose fibers.
- It reminds us to change our washing and buying behavior.
The Guppyfriend wash bag is just a first step towards a holistic solution to microfiber pollution. Not more. No less. Our overconsumption needs to change radically, and new materials, manufacturing techniques, cleaner washing machines and more effective sewage treatment plants need to be developed. That may take a while. Until then, the Guppyfriend wash bag is a practical and effective way to reduce plastic pollution in our rivers and oceans.
