All Oy bikinis are designed in Switzerland and manufactured in Portugal under fair working conditions in a small family business.

We only use the most durable and high quality fabrics, all of which are sourced in Europe. This way we ensure that the surf bikinis last a long time without losing their shape and color. Our expertise and background in product design, coupled with our passion for surfing, allows us to put a tremendous amount of know-how into the development of the products.
Mónica Almeida, our agent, plays a very important and valuable role. She is usually our main contact and manages production for us. This means we have an extension of the team and can delegate responsibility, which is great. In addition, we have direct access to the factory and can turn to her for specific questions.

All fabrics for our surf and yoga clothing are made in Italy and the recycled raw material is sourced from Slovenia. The production site is located in Portugal.

The factory is located about 40 minutes north of Porto.

Between September and March, we exchange ideas on a weekly to daily basis. It's about topics such as material sourcing, sample production and cut optimization. In the summer months, there's not so much going on because we focus on selling the products.

We go to Portugal at least once a year, usually in autumn. There we discuss the current collection and the different processes. During the meetings we analyse errors, look for process optimisations and discuss new solutions for product designs.

The production facility was founded in 2015, but has more than 30 years of experience in swimwear production, as the family business, initially called Irmar, existed long before that.

There are currently 22 employees working in production, all of whom work full-time.

According to Portuguese law, companies are obliged to pay at least the minimum wage. The law also roughly defines how much is earned for what work. In addition to the legal provisions, the production appreciates its employees individually, depending on their responsibilities. Diligence prizes are also awarded and the profits are divided equally among all employees each year. The appreciation for employees is enormous.

Oy attaches great importance to legal safety and hygiene requirements. Production complies with all regulations and is inspected every 6 months by an environmental engineer who ensures that employees work in safe conditions.

At the beginning of each year, a doctor and a nurse visit the factory to examine each worker. All employees are insured against work-related accidents, including travel to the factory and business trips.
